"Invisible Places" is a site-specific immersive installation that transforms the physical space of the National Museum of Music into a living, responsive canvas. A collaborative synthesis of sound and interactive media, the project was conceived by composer Carlos Caires (Concept, MaxMSP audio generation) and visually expanded by creative technologist Andrea Tamburrino aka Tamboo.
Utilizing a sophisticated stack of Unreal Engine and TouchDesigner, Tamburrino engineered the installation’s interactive architecture—encompassing generative audio-reactive visuals, virtual production elements, and complex data integration via OSC and DMX lighting protocols. Originally initiated within the framework of the DME Project and exhibited in Barcelona at BAU University in occasion of Punto y Raya Festival, and in Lisbon at Museum of Natural History and Science in occasion of the MONSTRA Animation Festival, this permanent iteration introduces a dynamic, real-time visual layer that acts as a digital mirror. The artwork invites visitors to step into a realm where the intangible becomes tangible, blurring the line between the observer and the environment.
